Your Focus Changes Your Dreams To Reality

Continuing my thoughts from last time…
A few years ago, I heard someone say something similar
to what I heard Joel Osteen say in my last post and it
made a very deep impression on me that changed the way
I relate to people having a bad day. Or at least I
will say that I started making a serious effort to
think beyond that moment, when someone acts toward me
in a way that could be upsetting to me. What I heard
was something to the effect that we should always be
kinder to others than we need to be because we never
know what burdens they are carrying inside.
Now, instead of getting angry and adding to the
negativity while also spending my energy in a way
that blocks my dreams and goals, I wonder what could
be going on with them to make them act in a way that
isn’t pleasant to be around. That made it much easier
to have a feeling of compassion for them or maybe a
feeling of gratitude that I wasn’t going through
something similar. Instead of getting angry at someone
who might be rude or acting like they were having a
bad day, I started assuming that there was something
going on in their lives that was causing them to act
that way.

When I didn’t let them push my buttons, causing me
to go away with a sour attitude that would affect the
rest of my day, or my goals or the other people who
were in contact with me that day, wonderful things
happened instead. I began to see myself as someone
who could make a positive difference. I went away
feeling invigorated and that I had made someone’s
life better. That gave me positive energy to put into
my projects and goals. It released healthy chemicals
into my bloodstream instead of stress chemicals that
could result in sickness or disease.
This is just one more of the little subtle things
that I do that I think has made a big difference in
bringing my dreams into the physical realm. I have
never forgotten my near death experience and the sight
of energy flowing in and out of everything in existence.
You put your mark on the energy that flows through
your life by the emotions you are feeling at the time.
I suggest taking the moment when you feel anger
instead of compassion and make the other choice.
Choose compassion even if you do it for selfish reasons
in the beginning. Realize that those emotions of
negativity are the ones that damage you from the inside
out, attracting back to you more of the same.
Listening to Joel Osteen for the few minutes that he
popped onto my TV screen, brought that back home to me.
It warmed my heart to think of people making the choice
to treat each other with kindness, realizing that you
never know what is going on in their life.
I let my self enjoy that “feel good moment” brought
on by his words, I enjoyed the physical feeling it gave
me and then I thought about my goals for a few minutes,
empowering them with that positive energy that I was
sending out to the universe.
Try it. You might be surprised.
